Why is it that some celebrity couples refuse to let fame, allegations of misdeeds and any other blips ruin their relationship? We always remember the big scandals, the affairs and the dramatic divorces. But what about the couples that endure, no matter what’s thrown at them? Here are a few of my favourite celeb duos that I have a lot of admiration for. They’re sterling examples of long-lasting commitment that every couple should follow, whether you meet on free online dating sites in UK cities or on a film set!

 

Posh and Becks

 

These two have had to deal with a lot since meeting in 1997 – but they have certainly endured, and Victoria recently gave birth to their fourth child, Harper Seven. The singer and the football star met at a Manchester United game and were instantly a hit with the media. They got married in 1999 in Luttrellstown Castle and have stayed together ever since. Their journey hasn’t exactly been smooth, though. In 2004 infidelity allegations swept the tabloids, which the football star dismissed as ludicrous. Last year prostitute Irma Nici also made allegations against David and was sued for doing so. Whether any of these allegations were true or not, you have to admire the couple for staying strong through so much drama!

 

Chris and Gwyneth

 

Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin and actor-turned-singer Gwyneth Paltrow have been together since 2002. But back then celebrity relationships were old hat to Gwyneth, who had dated actors Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck before meeting the singer. They now have two children, Apple and Moses. In a recent interview Gwyneth claimed that their relationship was not perfect, but it worked because they are good communicators who are always open with each other.

 

Jada and Will

 

Both big Hollywood stars and music artists, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith met way back in 1990 on the set of Will’s show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Jada was auditioning for a role when the two became friends, and they later started dating in 1995. Since their wedding in 1997 they have had two children. In an interview in 2008 she revealed the secret to their success: ‘He’s funny. And he thinks I’m hilarious.’ You don’t need a psychometric test to figure out they’re compatible then!

 

Matthew and Sarah

 

Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker have also enjoyed a long celebrity relationship. They married in 1997 and have three children – a son and twin girls. They actually met through Sarah’s brother.

 

We can all learn from these couples and their ironclad relationships! I certainly have.
